Spanish is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world, after English and Chinese. In fact, there are more Spanish speakers than there are native speakers of English, so it makes sense to learn the language.
And what better place to learn Spanish than Spain itself, the country of its birth? Babylon Idiomas offers 1-week and 2-week long classes in Spanish, right in the capital (Madrid), as well as Barcelona. Its instructional methods are accredited by Instituto Cervantes (established by the Government of Spain to promote Spanish language teaching), and there are no more than ten people in a class. There are 20 hours of Spanish language learning every week, plus five conversational / cultural lessons.
You will be staying with a host family (half-board), and you will have a single room all to yourself. When you are not attending class, you can see some wonderful Spanish art on display at the Prado or Thyssen-Bornemisza in Madrid; or the Fundacio Joan Miro / Picasso Museum in Barcelona.
You could also take a walk in Madrid’s 19th-century Buen Retiro Park, which has fountains; or stroll along the sun-kissed beaches of the Catalan capital (Barcelona), depending on where you choose to pursue your program. There are several iconic examples of Gothic architecture in both these cities; and if you love football, the Bernabeu / Camp Nou is close by. All classes are held in the city centre(s) from where everything is easily accessible.
The program also includes sports and activities. It has been designed in such a way that anyone over 16 years of age stands to benefit. The one-week program costs €550, while the two-week program will set you back by €1,040. But is that really too much to pay for the cultural experience of a lifetime? Check out the full details →
