Equinox Education Services Ltd. are delighted to be exhibiting at #ThinkLanguages, a national Transition Year event at the Convention Centre, Dublin, this Friday between 9.30am and 4.45pm.  Equinox will join over 70 other exhibitors and some 3,000 students who will attend the event that showcases overseas learning opportunities, languages and cultures.

The Transition Year (TY) gives students a chance to reflect on their interests and what the future might have in store for them. It’s also a time when many students are making choices for their Leaving Certificate subjects that help shape what sort of college course or career they may pursue. Although TY can be a great experience, these choices can be overwhelming, and it can be difficult to know what to do. The #ThinkLanguages event will promote the advantages of foreign language skills with the aim of making foreign language learning more appealing to everyone. The Equinox team will also be on hand to give free and independent advice on the many different types of study abroad options, which can not only help with language examination preparation, but undoubtedly broaden a student’s life skills and introduce new aspects to learning.

The event is being coordinated by Languages Connect, an awareness campaign delivered by Post Primary Languages Ireland (PPLI) in partnership with a growing number of partners. It is part of Ireland’s Strategy for Foreign Languages in Education 2017-2026 and Implementation Plan 2017-2022. Post-Primary Languages Ireland (PPLI) is a unit providing expertise and support for foreign languages education in Ireland. Its focus is on enhancing and broadening the opportunities available to students for learning foreign languages relevant to Ireland’s future cultural, social and economic needs. PPLI has responsibility for implementing key actions in Languages Connect – Ireland’s Strategy for Foreign Languages in Education 2017-2026, which was published by the Irish Government in December 2017.
